諺語(yǔ)，是人們?cè)谏�活�?jīng)驗(yàn)的基礎(chǔ)上創(chuàng)作出來(lái)的，言簡(jiǎn)意賅。因此特點(diǎn)，諺語(yǔ)常常被運(yùn)用與文章中，使語(yǔ)言活潑風(fēng)趣，增強(qiáng)文章的表現(xiàn)力。細(xì)讀考研文章，不難發(fā)現(xiàn)諺語(yǔ)的應(yīng)用。以往年的考研真題為例:
 
例. Which of the following proverbs is closest to the message the text tries to convey?
【A】”Faith will move mountains.”
【B】”One reaps what one sows.”
【C】”Practice makes perfect.”
【D】”Like father, like son.”
這道試題就是用諺語(yǔ)來(lái)考查考生對(duì)文章主題的理解。從中不難看出，諺語(yǔ)的掌握是不可或缺的。在此基礎(chǔ)上，總結(jié)了以下諺語(yǔ)，供考生學(xué)習(xí)。

1. It never rains but it pours.  不雨則已，一雨傾盆

意為：一件倒霉事后面總跟著一連串的麻煩。

2. Waste not, want not.  儉以防匱

意為：如對(duì)使用自己的東西精打細(xì)算，就什么也不會(huì)缺。

3. Every cloud has a silver lining.  塞翁失馬，焉知非福

11. Gold can't be pure and man can't be perfect. 金無(wú)足赤,人無(wú)完人

13. A real man never goes back on his words.一言既出，駟馬難追

14. A bad beginning makes a bad ending. 不善始者不善終

15. A bad workman always blames his tools. 不會(huì)撐船怪河彎

16. A bird in the hand is worth than two in the bush. 一鳥(niǎo)在手勝過(guò)雙鳥(niǎo)在林

17. A cat may look at a king. 貓也可以打量國(guó)王
 
意為:人人平等

18. A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit. 吃一塹，長(zhǎng)一智

19. All that ends well is well.  結(jié)果好，就一切都好

20. A good beginning is half done.  良好的開(kāi)端是成功的一半
 
21. Faith will move mountains.  精誠(chéng)所至，金石為開(kāi)
 
22. One reaps what one sows. 種瓜得瓜，種豆得豆
 
23. Practice makes perfect.   熟能生巧
 
24. Like father, like son.   有其父必有其子

25. A rolling stone gathers no moss. 滾石不生苔
  
意為：朝三暮四，沒(méi)有定性的人，永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)有大成就。
